Simon Nuttall – FCA – Partner

Simon joined the practice in 1992 having qualified with regional Bath firm Pearson May. 1992 was at the start of the computerisation of the practice and one of his first tasks was to oversea the move first to comprised accounts preparation and then tax return preparation. At the time of joining the practice the firm had eight staff members and Simon set about a program of steady development of the practice by focusing on the key values required by clients. The years since 1992 have seen the practice acquire two further practices in Malmesbury and Fairford and grow from eight to twenty-five staff members.

It is the client relationship that Simon enjoys, in an age when there is a shortage of consistent advice he enjoys the benefits of being able to provide a guiding professional hand to businesses and individuals helping them through the process of starting and developing a business as well as exit planning. The experience gained in taking the practice to where it is today is extremely useful in assisting clients achieve their goals for their business

As one of the foremost practices in Cirencester he believes that McGills should fill the role of market town practice fully and be there for what ever its business and residents need. This includes specialist areas such as:-

  • Farming
  • Motor
  • Construction
  • Property development
  • Retail
  • Engineering

Away from practice life Simon has a real interest in all things mechanical – from Steam Engines to Classic and Vintage Cars. It is not unusual to find him in his workshop of an evening making up parts on his lathe, or repairing one of his vehicles.
